Well it was a first for me to do a trash the dress before the wedding day… but Alana & Brian had limited time while visiting the states from Australia. No problemo! We had so much fun and lots of laughs at Balboa Park. Alana chose the park not only because of the rad architectural elements but also because her mom graduated from high school many years ago in Balboa Park! Beautiful light and a beautiful bride… what more could I ask for?

Side note:  As you can see, we don’t always trash your dress! It’s totally up to your comfort level, most of the time we just take bad-ass photos of you in your wedding attire. So don’t be scared… trash the dress is just another excuse to wear it one more time

Wowsers, I have been wanting to blog these photos for SO FREAKIN LONG! So much fun and I got to get super creative!!

This session was definitely unique… and proves that you don’t have to be a bride to trash the dress! Tiffany wanted a bad-ass fashion type session, so we pick the desert, (luckily before it got too hot out there!) We trashed the dress and then some. Tiffany is a beautiful model and also very talented!  She designed the all the jewelry that is featured in the shoot. She also does bridal & bridesmaids jewelry… check out her designs here.

Just a sneak peek of what’s to come!

Sometimes these sessions are called “Day After” sessions… well this was a 2 Year After session! Kristine and G decided to trash the dress for their 2 year anniversary, for themselves and as a present to their families. The are planning on decorating their home with fabulous pics of them all decked out in their formal attire. Awesome!

So we set out to Little Italy in search of my good friend, COLOR! And boy did we find it, I’m a big fan of bright color and contrast. I also played a bit with textures on these ones. What do you guys think??? Stay tuned this week for part 3… a set from the second location, fields of wildflowers!

Let me just say first off that these have got to be my FAVORITE sessions to do. Being an artist, it is so freeing to be able to photograph a beautiful bride and have nothing that is holding us back. That’s what Trash the Dress is all about. As it says on the Trash the Dress website “It is about creation not destruction”. You are able to create images that would not be possible on the wedding day.

I have so many favorite images from this session I am going to blog in installments! In the next few days I will be posting more images. Kristine and G were heaven to photograph. They have got all the moves! It helps that they are both fellow photographers They were definitely in touch with my vision for the shoot…
