Merry Christmas to all on this very special day! I am so excited to be celebrating the true meaning of Christmas this year… tonight I will be attending a Midnight Mass service with loved ones. May your hearts be happy and may you deepen in love & devotion.

As we drove through the winding mountain road I felt the city falling away and a sense of peace coming over me. I looked at my companion Meredith and said “This is exactly what I needed”. To get away, even just for a minute. To unplug from this crazy cyber-dominated fast paced at your fingertips world. Where we were going didn’t even have cell service!

Now I have always loved horses. I love their warmth, their eyes, their slobbering mouths and yes, their smell. Something about how strong they are and yet so sensitive at the same time. I haven’t been around horses in years and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time with Meredith and her horses, Ginger & Salty. Here are a few pics we took with Ginger…

As I’m editing the rest of Jessie & Jay’s wedding I keep coming across more highlights and photos that make me smile. I wanted to post this because I know they will get a kick out of it!

As I drove up to Paradise Point the rain was still coming down pretty hard. My mind was racing, trying to come up with a Plan B. It rarely rains in San Diego so most weddings are planned outdoors, even in the winter. But as soon as I got there all my worries were in vain. The skies cleared and the sun came out and we were gifted a few hours of beautiful weather for Jessie & Jay’s nuptials. We had tons of time for pictures and the mood was relaxed and festive. Jessie & Jay are such a kind and fun couple. It was such an honor to be there on their wedding day!

When I arrived I found the guys at the Barefoot bar getting it started:

Couples that see each other beforehand simply rock! And Jessie looked so beautiful all dolled up…

On behalf of their guests, they donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. How awesome is that?!

Don’t go too far… more coming soon!

These guys are such great friends and have become awesome clients as well… This is the 3rd time I have photographed them, and Mia just gets cuter and cuter every year. And I think she might be warming up to me- at the end of our session she asked me to come over to their place for a sleepover! So adorable!

The other night while driving past a church in my neighborhood I caught a glimpse of the sign out front that read “Count Your Blessings“. Now that’s a phrase I have heard countless times but never have really stopped to consider its true meaning. What does it mean to count my blessings? Do I practice it? Do I recognize the miracles in my life and express gratitude for them? Or do I go around always feeling sorry for myself and my circumstances, comparing myself to so-and-so down the street? Well I have to admit I have done both in the past, but I’m working on choosing the latter and opening more & more to the amazing graces that bless me each day.

So I thought that for Thanksgiving I will take this opportunity to share a few things I am grateful for… and I invite you to do the same!

Love. I am blown away by the people in my life, people that love me unconditionally, people with whom I have let my guard completely down… I don’t have to be anybody, I can just be me. I am so fortunate to feel deeply connected to the people in my life and I celebrate them! I admire their honesty, courage and selfless love.

This job! I am among the lucky ones who can say that they truly love what they do. It’s simply awesome that I can make a living doing photography. I love getting to tell people’s stories and at the same time make new friends & share new experiences all along the way. My job is inspiring and exciting and I treasure that.

God, because without nothing would be possible. I am thankful that God knows my heart and continues to answer my prayers. There is such a great amount of love for us, we just have to open to it.

I could name many more but for the sake of blog space I will keep it short and sweet. I believe in the creative power of one’s thoughts, whether it be positive or negative, so it’s important to be conscious of what we are putting out there. If we are humbly recognizing all that is good in our lives we will be rewarded with more and more abundance. So remember to give thanks not just today, but everyday.

Jessica & Logan get gold stars in the planning dept… they booked their engagement session the same weekend as their engagement party! Cue: Celebrate good times c’mon!

The weather at wind ‘n sea beach was really cool and foggy, and I love the look it gave to their photos. Something different, right? Also a big thanks to my girl Melanie for referring me this cute cute couple!

Chelsea and Bryan’s wedding was filled with style, elegance and grace. As Chelsea got dressed in her suite at the top of the US Grant hotel she didn’t seem nervous at all, just very excited! They decided on a night wedding which was different and yet so much fun… so many of their friends came out from nearby Descanso and partied the night away! The gals at Ever After Events transformed the place into a beautiful and romantic setting, with subdued colors and candelit mood lighting.

Thanks to everyone who made me feel so comfortable and welcome, especially Chelsea’s mom Connie.  Enjoy your sneak peek C&B!

Chelsea looked amazing, what a stunner! Her fabulous makeup was done by Tonya Brewer… check her out, her work is phenomenal.
