Kristi and Paul’s wedding fell on a perfect September day. I really love this time of year in San Diego… perfect weather and less crowded, a great time of year for a wedding.

After having a blast with Kristi & Paul (and JB!) at their engagement session, I knew that they were loosened up and comfortable with me, which is always a plus! So it was easy breezy working with them on the big day and I am really happy with the portraits that we got. A highlight was the super RAD 1929 Durant that they rented from Lance at Haynes Chauffeuring. I was so excited to get to ride in the front seat with Lance… who is also a total character!

So the day started with the beautiful bride getting ready with moms and bridesmaids..

The intimate reception was held at the Beach House in Cardiff.

This little one holds a special place in my heart… Indigo is my goddaughter and the first baby in my close circle of friends. This is the first of many future photoshoots as Indigo changes, grows and moves through this thing called life.  I feel so grateful to be close to her and to share a special bond. Thanks for making it into this world little Indigo. Here she is at 2 weeks old…

Such a good mommy. It’s amazing to watch my best friend become a mom… it helps that she is naturally a very loving & caring person!

Normally newborns sleep a lot and it’s nice to get some sweet & peaceful sleeping shots. Well Indigo wanted to be awake!! But that’s okay because she looks super cute either way, don’tcha think?

Congrats to the whole family! I love you guys.

You may remember these guys from Hilary & Dave’s wedding back in July! Well the exciting news is that they are expecting another baby girl in December… you know what that means? Time for a family session at the beach!

Heidi & Scott found me through my friend Alma at Love is in the Details Events. Alma is Heidi’s sister-in-law! They actually currently live in New Jersey but planned to get married here in beautiful San Diego. So I had never met them in person until the actual wedding day. But what a treat! Heidi & Scott turned out to be such sweet caring people who truly love each other and their friends & family. You could see the gratitude in their eyes all day, it was beautiful.

The wedding took place at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse with decor by Alma and flowers by Artistic Florals.

One of the sweetest first dances I have witnessed. They were both beaming!

I’m so excited that Will & Aine’s wedding has been featured on Rock ‘n Roll bride!

Rock ‘n Roll Bride is a site dedicated to fun unique weddings, stylish brides and awesome photography. I am beyond thrilled to be featured!

Well it was a first for me to do a trash the dress before the wedding day… but Alana & Brian had limited time while visiting the states from Australia. No problemo! We had so much fun and lots of laughs at Balboa Park. Alana chose the park not only because of the rad architectural elements but also because her mom graduated from high school many years ago in Balboa Park! Beautiful light and a beautiful bride… what more could I ask for?

Side note:  As you can see, we don’t always trash your dress! It’s totally up to your comfort level, most of the time we just take bad-ass photos of you in your wedding attire. So don’t be scared… trash the dress is just another excuse to wear it one more time

Oh the cuteness! We did Indi’s newborn photos yesterday and this one totally stuck out. Here she is at 2 weeks old…

I had been looking forward to this wedding ever since Will called me up to tell me about their plans! Will is a friend of mine who I have known for about 15 years… we are from the same small town and have many many friends in common. I know Will to be a sweet-hearted and genuine person with an insane musical talent. I only knew of Aine because they have been a couple for quite a while now. They met in the Santa Cruz samba community since Will is a drummer for the band Sambada` and Aine used to dance with them.

So anyways, I was beyond thrilled to travel up to Santa Cruz to document their wedding. And I was not disappointed! It turned out to be one of the most exquisitely beautiful, vibrant and unique event I have ever photographed. It was so THEM! The music was off tha hook as you can imagine, and all of their family and community came out to celebrate their love. I had to shed a couple tears during the ceremony… it was an experience of hope, commitment and devotion, very moving and inspiring! So without further ado, here is a very long blog post, but I just had to do it justice!

Will & Aine, I am so grateful that you included me in your wedding and intimate moments. I pray that you continue to grow and deepen in your love together and always be blessed! xo G

Sambada` then rounded up the guests and they paraded through town to the reception!

The band that played the reception was called Los Pinguos from Argentina. They were so good, they got the party dancing! Oh the dancing…
