What kind of equipment do you use? I shoot with Canon Mark II bodies and L-lenses. Photos are shot in RAW, color/exposure corrected, enhanced and then processed into jpegs. Photos are backed up (twice!) and you receive a mix of color and black & white images.

When and where will my portrait session take place? We will work together to pick the best location for your portrait session. I have a lot of suggestions! Since I am a natural light photographer we will plan to shoot either in the morning or in the late afternoon about 1-2 hours before sunset. I'm always on the lookout to get that warm yummy afternoon light and will plan to get there early to check out the lighting conditions.

How far in advance should I book? Weekends typically book up about a month in advance while weekdays are more flexible. If you are planning to book a newborn session, I suggest you contact me with your due date so we can plan a tentative date that falls within the first 2 weeks after baby is born. Weddings typically book 6-12 months in advance.

What should we wear? Okay this is one of my most asked questions... what to wear! It's tough to choose something that works for the whole family but here are my suggestions...

Don't wear clothes that are too matchy-matchy. Gone are the days of everyone in white shirts + khakis at the beach. It's better to plan outfits that coordinate but aren't too identical. Consider a color theme, like sticking to 3 colors and their different shades. Or do mostly neutrals with a pop of color. Have fun with it and show some of your unique personalities at the same time. Accessories always work great to add some flair!
With small children bring a change of clothes and wait to change them until the start of the session. It's not a good look to have food stains or drool down the front of your toddler's clothes!
Consider the location. At the beach you will most likely go barefoot... leave the heels at home. If we choose a park or rustic location you probably want to keep in mind that you might be sitting in some of the shots, walking on uneven ground, etc. A cute top, skinny jeans and boots always look great in this type of setting.
Depending on the session, you might want to bring a couple outfit changes. I mostly suggest outfit changes for engagement shoots, high school seniors or families with older children. If time allows, I'm all for mixing it up!

Will I receive a CD? Most likely no. Starting in 2015 I have switched to mostly digital delivery. It allows me to keep my prices low by saving on materials, postage fees and extra taxes. Once you choose your images from the online gallery you will receive a link to your digital downloads.

Wedding images are delivered high-resolution on a custom flash drive for your archives.

Do you do retouching? Yes I do basic retouching on the final images that you receive. Photos will be ready for you to print... color and exposure balanced and I will fix anything that stands out (stray hairs, acne, dark circles, etc). For more extensive retouching I may charge an additional fee.
