My newborn style has changed. My favorite sessions are now done at home, with minimal props, just focusing on family connection. The “lifestyle” look has become extremely popular and I just love how relaxed and natural the images turn out.

I know I've said it before, but I love in-home newborn sessions! Being at home allows my clients to relax... it's much less stressful especially after just having a baby. Kids are comfortable in their own environment and so it allows time to capture those special moments between siblings!
Big sister Ava was a bundle of energy but was able to slow down enough to capture some great shots snuggling with the new baby. These girls will be the best of friends and I'm looking forward to seeing their bond grow.

Such a joy getting to photograph this lifestyle newborn session! Getting to capture this moment... of mom & dad with their brand new baby girl at home, in their own home, is why I love this job. And why I absolutely love shooting lifestyle newborn sessions!
If baby is past the 2 week mark they are much harder to pose, and so I take more of a documentary approach to the session, focusing on normal day to day life with baby. And the love just shines through.

As I reflect back on this past year I feel so grateful for the opportunity I have as an artist and business owner to connect with people and live my passion. This year my portrait business has really grown... thanks to the continued support and referrals from my awesome clients! I wanted to share with you a sample of the moments I captured in 2013.
